3.30.03 I cannot wait, next weekend I will have a tattoo!! My very first one, one that I've been thinking about and planning for a long long time. I'll post pictures when it's all finished. I'm hoping I won't pass out or vomit or twitch while it's being done.
3.25.03 Woot my site became an Editor's Pick at OnlineComics.net!! If I knew any kind of a happy dance besides jumping up and down, trust me, I'd be doing it right now.
3.17.03 I posted my site on OnlineComics.net, where there's just a humongous database of comics online to look at. So go forth and play! Oh and please vote for my comic to get more people reading by clicking here. Thanks a gabillion!
3.15.03 Well it appears I've run head-on into my space limit for my web page. So it might take a little while before I iron out exactly how I'm going to acquire more room. I think I will have a temporary solution and then eventually get a domain name of my very own. Suggestions? MonicaRules.com? GodsRock.net? BigFreaksLikeMonica.org?
3.7.03 Happy happy day! I am now enrolled as an exhibitor at the 2003 Small Press Expo in Bethesda, MD from September 5 - 7th. Hooray! Now even if no one stops by my booth I'll be content enough with taking in the comics happenings around me. And maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to exercise a few of my under-developed networking skills and meet some comics people! Check out the Small Press Expo's website here. And then plan on going and having a blast!
3.5.03 It's the little things in life that make me the happiest. Today on my drive home from work, there was a truck in front of me with a really filthy back end. It had the numbers "841007" painted on it, and someone had wiped the grime off just the numbers "007". That reminded me of when I used to be obsessed with James Bond in high school. One time in English class, we were reading aloud the serial numbers of our books for our teacher to mark down. When it got to me I read my numbers "004" aloud as "double-0-four" cause I was a huge geek. A couple of fellow geeks in the class laughed with me. Then it got to be this incredibly annoying boy's turn. And he actually had the numbers "007" but insisted on saying them aloud as "zero-zero-seven". My fellow geeks and I were outraged.
3.4.03 Wow, I'm so proud
of myself, I'm being absurdly pro-active for me. I got off my ass today and
joined a gym! Woo hoo! A real-live gym with real equipment and classes and
a pool and volleyball courts! As opposed to the free "Fitness Center" at my
apartment complex, which consists of one treadmill, two stairmasters, two
bikes and an assortment of crappy weight machines. That, and dealing with
old feeble men who barely stumble along on the treadmill, not paying any attention
to the baseball game they insist on having on the TV. Or the sulky teenagers
who do their homework while sitting on the weight machines, and get insulted
when you come in to the Fitness Center to actually exercise. So needless to
say, I'm happy. I figure paying money will give me enough of a push to regularly
go. Here's hoping, anyway!
